Project Overviews

At EPRI, sector programs needed a tool to create project information for "proposed" projects that would allow programs to sell and members and non-members to see more details on each individual project to make purchasing decisions. Here you'll see examples throughout the project as we developed a new admin tool allowing project managers to enter a more robust set of information for members and non-members to make informed purchasing decisions…

Whiteboard, Sketch & Process Flows

  • My role in this project encompassed more than usual; project manager, business analyst and information architect.

  • Along with key team members, I gathered business requirements and coupled them with current systems capabilities.

  • I developed sketches and process flows to communicate and verify current and future user inputs and data flows.

  • We took on the extra challenge of adding a new system to store the entered data that moving forward would help the business in many areas they weren't even aware of.

Wireframes & Executive and Development Communication

  • Throughout the project I created diagrams and flows to communicate with stakeholders and members to keep our designs in check and translate our design intent.

  • I led my team by creating detailed annotated wireframes to communicate clearly what and how we planned to develop this new admin tool both for our internal development team and third party developers.

  • I communicated directly with product owners, executives and tested our ideas with members.

Axure Prototype & Live

  • I created clickable prototypes for our final design for communication and testing with our members.

  • Because we took on the extra feature of automating a currently manual process of creating visually appealing PDF sales sheets from raw input data, we ran into many roadblocks along the way in how that task would be accomplished.

  • Through perseverance and a few late nights the team found a way to over deliver.

  • In the end the project data information is now validated to an approved schema and stored in an XML database and able to be distributed to different formats; various HTML views for members and non-members.

  • We delivered the requested tools within the agreed timeframe.

  • As a bonus, we were also able to deliver the automated and streamlined process of creating project sales sheets (SPNs) from the data entered into admin tool.
